We’re having a couple of great events this month! On Saturday the 14th it’s National Gaming Day so we are having a board game bash all day. From 10:30am – 3:30pm we will have dozens of board games available to choose from – including some new ones. As always you are welcome to bring your own game from home. An added feature this year is a Dungeons and Dragons workshop for beginnners that will be hosted by two experiences players – Important – you must sign up for the workshop. We’ll be adding our numbers to libraries across the country to break the record for number of people playing at one time. The Friends of the Corinth Free Library will be providing refreshments. Join us – it’ll be alot of fun!
On Tuesday November 17 at 7pm Rachel Clothier will be here for a book signing and local history program. There will be limited copies of the new Images of America Book: Corinth.
The Library will be closed on Thursday November 26 for Thanksgiving.

Sometimes life just moves too fast. October is half over already and I’m just doing my monthly update. Sigh… Michael is very busy now that storytime has started again. (That’s Monday nights at 7 and Friday mornings at 10:30.) He is also doing outreach at Head Start on Tuesday mornings. Our new display in the case features Adirondack Guides and Hermits and includes a nifty framed photo and signature card of Noah John Rondeau.
We are open on Halloween, come in and show off your costume.

And Summer goes. Here are some important reminders as we head into Fall. We are closed on Monday September 7 for Labor Day. When we reopen on Tuesday September 8 we will be back on our regular hours. These are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 11am – 5pm and 7pm – 8:30pm; Friday 9:30am – 4pm; and Saturday 10am – 4pm. As always we are closed on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Story time takes a break during September while people are settling into their new school schedules, and Michael visits with local pre-schools. We will resume in October. The Children’s Room remains open for your enjoyment; stop in with the kids to read, play and have fun.
During the month of September we are hosting an exhibit entitled Papermaking at Palmer Falls: Industrial Innovation on the Upper Hudson River. This is on loan from the Corinth Museum. Also on display are books about the Hudson River, the International Paper Co., and papermaking. Stop in to view the displays any time the library is open.

It’s Summertime, and the livin’ is easy here at the little library on the riverbank. Summer Reading Club sign-ups have started and we are halfway through page 3 already! Just as last year all ages can sign up. Pre-readers must attend 3 story times (check the events calendar for dates and times); school kids must read 5 books and play our readers trivia dice game (as always, extra books read are encouraged – but the trivia dice game is not needed after the first 5 books.) Adults must read at least 5 books, one of which should be non-fiction, and keep your own list. Everyone who finishes is invited to our wrap-up party on August 8 at 11am for refreshments, certificates, and goodies.
