After the cool and wet Spring we are basking in the warm weather! With July comes Summertime changes and events at the library.
Beginning July 1 and lasting until after Labor Day our Summer Hours arrive. Just click on the Hours tab for a recap.
We are closed on Thursday July 4 for Independence Day.
Monday July 1 at 7pm we will host Karen Zhang to talk about her recent memoir – Golden Orchid: the True Story of an Only Child in Contemporary China.
There is a Board of Trustees meeting on Monday July 8 at 7pm.
Our Summer Reading Program – A Universe of Stories -has started and there’s a lot going on in July – if you haven’t already signed up there’s still plenty of time to get your reading in and be eligible to attend the party in August.
July 1 – 2pm and July 2 – 7pm we will be showing a preview of the new PBS documentary Chasing the Moon
There will be two rocket building workshops: one for Beginners on July 11 at 1pm (you must sign up for this as space is limited), and one for more Advanced builders on July 12 at 1pm.
We will be taking part in the Global Rocket Launch Challenge on July 16 (the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11’s launch). We will be launching all day (weather permitting).
July 20 all day we will be streaming historical footage by NASA of the Moon Landing to commemorate the 50th anniversary of this historic event.
July 22 Martian Magic Show will be at the library, show starts at 1pm.
July 27 10am-3pm the annual Book and Bake Sale put on by the Friends of the Library. Come buy stuff and help the library.
July 29 at 7pm Science Monday returns with an opportunity to get hands-on with some great gadgets that also will teach you about science.
