December 2020

As the year draws to a close we find ourselves continuing to maintain our safety plan to help keep our staff and community healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. At our current level of service we are open for browsing in a limited area of the library. The maximum number of people allowed in the library at any one time is 10. We remind our library community to wear their face masks properly at all times when in the library, to wait patiently at a safe distance if others are ahead of you, and to limit your time in the building.

We will do our best to help you get the library materials and services that you need and want. Please ask if there is something that we can help you with. Remote services are available on our website including Overdrive for downloadable reading and listening material and Kanopy for streaming video content.

We will be closed on Thursday December 24 & Friday December 25 for the Christmas Holiday and on Thursday December 31 & Friday January 1 for the New Year’s Holiday.

We still have Stained Glass Earth kits available for pick up anytime we are open. Additionally we have snowflake templates as well.

MAKE A ‘STAINED GLASS’ EARTH!

Thanks to our friends at NASA, the Corinth Free Library now has a number of project packages available which allow you to make a window ornament that reflects the beauty of our home planet! Using only common household materials (almost all are included) you’ll create a representation of the Earth that looks nice all the time, and spectacular when the Sun hits it! We have a limited number of these and they will be available at the library starting Friday November 27.

Stained Glass Earth

November 2020

Our strange year is slowly reaching its end. The leaves are gone, the sun is dipping low on the horizon, and the colder weather is flirting with us.

We remain open for browsing and public computer use. We remain limited in the number of people who can be in at any one time and therefore are not encouraging lengthy stays. Face masks are required while in the library and distancing is encouraged. Our browsing area is stocked with new books, children’s books, movies, audiobooks, graphic novels, and paperbacks. Not everything we own fits in that area, but we are very happy to help you find whatever you are looking for…if it is elsewhere in the building we will go get it for you and if it is at another library we will help you request it. We can help you make photocopies, send faxes, and make printouts.

We are still offering fresh produce thanks to the Farm 2 Library program. We receive weekly deliveries of fresh produce which is free for anyone to take. The program will suspend during the winter, but for now we are continuing to receive food.

Don’t forget our digital services. If you can’t or don’t want to come to the library there are digital books and audiobooks available through Overdrive…just connect through our website. You can also stream movies by clicking on the Kanopy icon on our website.

The library is closed for Veterans Day on Wednesday November 11 and for Thanksgiving on Thursday November 26.
