May?

The calendar says May, but it sure doesn’t feel like it!

May 16 there will be no evening hours…we will be open from 11am-5pm only on that day.  Staff and board members will be attending the annual meeting of the Southern Adirondack Library System.

Michael will be at the Corinth Elementary School Open House on Tuesday evening, stop in and say hello and see what we’ll be doing this summer.  While you are at the school don’t forget to vote for the Corinth Free Library proposition on the School Budget.

Thursday May 19 from 2-4pm Michael will be holding a rocket demonstration and launch at the Corinth High School Football Field.  The larger space allows for larger rockets to be flown.  The first hour will be set up and test launches, and the second hour will (weather permitting) be when the big rockets fly.  It should be fun!

Monday May 23 at 6pm is this month’s PTSA reading event.  As always there will be a special guest reader, lots of stories and fun.

Pre-school story time is on Friday mornings at 10:30.

We will be closed on Monday May 30 for Memorial Day.

April Showers

Perfect weather for reading!  Can’t wait to get out into the garden?  We have lots of good books to help you plan out this year’s garden – whether it will be full of flowers or food.

Friday mornings continue to be story time days for pre school aged children.  It’s a great way to instill a love of reading in your child.  Join us at 10:30.  This Friday (4/15) there will be no story time as Michael will be away for a workshop.

Monday April 18 at 6pm is this month’s PTSA reading event.  As always there will be a special guest reader, lots of stories and fun.

Summer Reading is coming fast!  Michael is busy working on getting the fleet of rockets repaired and building new ones.  Help is always appreciated – let us know what time works for you.  We hope to be launching our new BIG rocket at a larger field soon.  Look for details as they become available.

Spring?

Looks like March is going out like a lion this week with lots of wind and cold temperatures.  Well, it’s nice and warm inside the library; and there’s so much to do!

There is a Library Board meeting coming up on Monday April 4 at 7pm.

We have recently beefed up our collection of kids’ music with cds by favorites like Ella Jenkins, Raffi, Dave Fry & Hap Palmer.  Also in the collection cds with music for kids from giants in the field of rock, folk, country, classical and jazz.  Michael’s favorite?  Little Richard doing the Hokey Pokey!

Don’t forget – story time for pre-school aged children is Fridays at 10:30.
