The Library will be closed on Monday October 8 for Columbus Day.

The Corinth Free Library in conjunction with Stephen Cernek of the Hudson River Mill Museum has received an Action Grant from Humanities New York to support a series of public programs called Reuniting a Community With Its History: Three Centuries of Life and Work on the Hudson River in Corinth.   This month we continue with programs at the library and one scholar-led walk along the Hudson River starting at the library.   Call for more information or to register for a program. These programs are made possible and sponsored by a Humanities New York Action Grant. “Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in these programs do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.”

Tuesday October 9 at 7pmStephen Cernek presents “Paintings and Photographs of the Hudson River, From Jessup”s Landing to Palmer Falls.”

Monday October 15 at 7pm: Dick Nason presents “Historic Adirondack Logging and Hudson River Driving.”

Saturday October 20 at 11amStephen Cernek will lead a “Walking Tour along the Hudson River from the Corinth Beach to Pagenstecher Park.”

Tuesday October 30 at 7pmStephen Cernek presents “Three Centuries of Commerce and Industry on the Hudson River at Corinth.”

Monday October 29 at 7pm: Author Wanda Adams Fischer discusses her new book Empty Seats.

Story time for pre-school aged children and their families is on Saturday October 6, 13 and 20 at 10:30 am.

We are continuing to highlight aspects of Corinth’s history with special displays in our case to celebrate the Town of Corinth’s Bicentennial.  This month our display is the history of education in Corinth with items from CCS.  Also in the case is a selection of the painted rocks that will be part of the scavenger hunt in August.

Our Summer Reading Program starts on Saturday June 23 with sign ups at the library.  Our theme this summer is Corinth 200 in celebration of the Town of Corinth’s bicentennial.  When you sign up check out the list of special events through out the summer.

Have fun with Corinth’s history and take part in our Historical Marker Scavenger Hunt.  It starts on Saturday June 23 and runs until Friday August 10.  Stop in to check out the rules and pick up your entry.

Science Monday is June 25 at 7 pm.  Join us to explore with 3-D mazes, robots, circuits, Legos and more.

We will be at the Town of Corinth’s Fun Day on Wednesday June 27.  Sign up for Summer Reading or just say hello.

Story time for young children is Saturday June 16, 23, and 30 at 10:30.

We are continuing to highlight aspects of Corinth’s history with special displays in our case to celebrate the Town of Corinth’s Bicentennial.  This month our display is the history of the Corinth Free Library and how we have been serving the community since 1926.  Also in the case is a selection of the painted rocks that will be part of the scavenger hunt in August.

Story time this month is on May 5 and May 12 at 10:30 am.  There will be no story time on May 19 or 26 due to staff vacation time.

We will be at the Corinth Elementary Open House on May 15 with information about our upcoming summer programs.  Stop and say hi when you are there voting or checking out your child’s classroom.

On Monday May 21 we will be open from 11-5 ONLY…there are no evening hours that day.  Staff and board members will be attending the Annual Meeting of the Southern Adirondack Library System.

We will be closed on Monday May 28 for Memorial Day.
